The Downtown Holiday Storefront Mural Contest
A project coordinated by Isles that pairs local artists and designers with downtown businesses to create festive, eye-catching window displays throughout the holiday season. Each participating business will showcase a one-of-a-kind, artist-designed storefront window that celebrates Trenton’s creativity and community spirit. This year’s contest will include 10 businesses and 10 paid artists, with the top three designs selected by an online public vote and judging panel. In addition, three voters will be randomly selected to win a $50 LoveLocal gift card, redeemable at various Downtown Trenton businesses.

How it Works
Design Themes
Artists will be asked to choose one of four themes for their artwork:
-
Winter Wonderland - This theme is all about the magic of winter! Think snowflakes, hot cocoa, cozy sweaters, and fun in the snow. You can paint snowy scenes, glowing lights, or anything that shows the beauty and joy of winter.
-
Abstract - This theme is about using shapes, colors, and patterns to show how winter or the holidays make you feel. You don’t have to draw real things—just use your imagination! Swirls, bright colors, and cool designs all work.
-
Cultural/Traditional - This theme celebrates how different people and cultures enjoy the holidays. You can show special foods, clothes, decorations, or traditions from your family or community. It’s all about what makes your holiday time special!
-
Playful & Friendly - This theme is all about having fun and spreading kindness! Think about friends laughing together, people helping each other, or kids playing in the snow. You can paint bright colors, smiling faces, and happy moments that show joy and friendship during the holidays.
