Isles, Inc. has introduced a new $10,000 grant initiative aimed at supporting local artists and creative entrepreneurs in Trenton.
The announcement was made at the Trenton Creatives Networking Brunch, held Feb. 1 at Much Better Studios.
The Trenton Creative Network Grant program will provide four grants of $2,500 each to fund community-oriented art projects within Downtown Trenton's Creek to Canal Creative District.
These projects may include public art installations, cultural performances, or community investment initiatives that enhance the vibrancy, beauty, and safety of Old Trenton.
“The event was so powerful and inspiring that new collaborations were formed,” said Tyquan Benton, Isles’ special projects manager.
“With the already limited funding available for artists in the city of Trenton—and the uncertainty of future funding due to the current state of the federal government—I am proud that, with the support of Isles, we were able to launch the Trenton Creative Network Grant,” he said.
Funded by the Downtown Trenton Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) program through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, the grant is open for applications through March 31, 2025.
Projects must be based in the Old Trenton neighborhood and align with the Creek to Canal Creative District’s goals of fostering a welcoming and supportive creative community.
